Maurizio Anzeri is an Italian artist who turns vintage photographs into canvases. Using different coloured threads, he traces portraits with stitches and transforms ghost-like images into eye-catching, intricate designs. Anzeri’s elaborate needle-work set against somber backgrounds results in a sharp juxtaposition; and despite the history of both the technique and the images used, he produces work which treads new ground. In doing so, he challenges our attitudes towards the relevance of traditional techniques in contemporary art.

FT PATHWAY - PATTERNS WORKSHOP
We started our pathway learning how to use repeat pattern techniques via Hand and Photoshop. The first part was practical based, we have been working on paper, then we moved to Photoshop. The main thing was working with the offset command in photoshop to make a repeat pattern. We also learned how to render designs/prints onto Fashion designs - or draping on the stand. I really enjoyed working with photoshop. Firstly, It quite hard to understand all the options that we should use, but then was only easier. I feel that I learned a lot in only two days. I feel that this workshop open my mind, now I see a lot of new techniques that I can use in my future work.

GRAPHICS WEEK 4
Our task on graphics design was to find letters at school, in books etc. took a photograph and then make an alphabet from them. Next assignment was to create our own letters and then make a poster with slogan ,,graphic design,,. To be honest on first day I was little bit confused, because I have never been doing graphics. I was surprised that we were making lot of things manually. By the end of the week we were supposed to make a poster which express the quote. To prepare us for that assignment we have workshop from photoshop, illustrator and indesign. I really enjoyed that day. I was experimenting with the shapes in illustrator, and I've done not really successful collage in photoshop. Indesign was more confusing, nevertheless I found them really interesting and helpful. In that moment I don't like work I've done, but I hope that in future when I will gain more experience with using that programs, effect will be more satisfying.
