Recently, I have visited a few exhibitions connected with the main project about dissent and resistance.
First one was in The British Library called Gay UK: Love, Law, Liberty. I have also visited British Museum (Desire, Love, Identity), Tate Britain (Queer British Art: 1861-1967) and Tate Modern (Soul of a nation). The most interesting things from that was general look at social changes in the last 50 years. I've found there intriguing associations with my descent. I thought it would be really captivating way to tell something more about me and my country. Last year in Poland was really turbulent especially for Polish women. The government wanted to prohibit abortion in really radical cases such as rape and danger of death. They wanted also to change constitution using illegal methods. Our democracy became endangered. Majority of Polish people gathered together and went to protest on the streets. First manifestation was called Black Monday. Everyone from my previous school (which is supporting freedom, feminism and is really into changes) along with my tutors didn't go to work and went outside fight for our rights. I'm doing research starting from conversations with my friends which are still active in that area, through reactions of Polish artistic society.
