WEARABLE ART- FINAL LOOK

Project from Fashion and Textiles is called "wearable art'. We were supposed to make a piece of wardrobe using only paper. On fashion design workshops I've done a dress using only paper, pins and tape. The whole process of designing took me 2 days. On the first day I did some research. For my main inspiration I took Yayoi Kusama, who is a Japanese artist. I was inspired by the shapes that we can see on her paintings. They reminded me about cubistic painters, like Pablo Picasso which I admire and have recently seen in Tate Modern. On the next stage, which was creating dress from paper. I decided to cut and fold paper in different shapes. I wanted my dress to be geometric and based on different kinds of triangles. Last stage was photoshoot. I was inspired by new Bjork music video to 'The Gate'. To be honest I'm not really happy with effects, because my dress was broken and I had really small amount of time to do it (an hour). If I will have more time I definitely would use my camera for taking photos (this ones were taken using my phone). I don't think that I will stay with idea of dark, colourful, bright light, surely I would do it more precisely, but I think that effect is really kitshy.
